Dental Insurance Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
Dental Insurance Coordinators ensure that patients’ dental insurance coverages are handled efficiently.
They interact with both patients and insurance companies to manage claims and provide an accurate cost estimate to patients.
Their duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and processing dental insurance claims for all locations
- Communicating with insurance companies and patients to resolve any coverage, payment or claim issues
- Updating patient records with current insurance information
- Working closely with dental office staff to ensure all procedures are billed correctly
- Following up on unpaid insurance claims and denials
- Process all personal and insurance payments to patient’s accounts
- Stay updated with changes in dental insurance policies and procedures
- Enter and process deposits for all locations
The Dental Insurance Coordinator’s duties include maintaining accurate patient records, answering insurance queries, resolving any issues related to coverage and payment, and managing insurance claims.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in using office software and dental practice management software.
- Proven experience as a Dental Insurance Coordinator or similar role in a dental office.
- Knowledge of dental insurance billing and coding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
